Discovery is a card of strategy. You can for example play it in the opponent's turn and choose draw when the opponent already has too many cards in the hand. Or you can choose discard after the opponent has been drawing and you have no more cards in your hand. It could be used as a mill weapon etc.

Changelog During Playtesting

• Nerf in August 2026:
  The first option is no longer "Draw 2 cards and the opponent draws 1 card." but instead both players draw a card. The second option to make the opponent discard a card is no longer random.
• Buff in December 2025:
  The second option to make opponent discard a card is now random which card that is discarded.
• Nerf in August 2024:
  Previous version stated "Draw 3 cards and the opponent draws 2 cards. [ OR ] Discard 1 card and the opponent discards 2 cards."
• Buff in August 2019:
  Drawing for the opponent is not any longer optional.
